Coursework tasks have been posted online by pupils asking for help and online communities have been generous with their answers, many of them offering detailed solutions. Ofqual said that some posts had been viewed thousands of times, creating concerns that next summer’s GCSE results will not “fairly reflect” every student’s abilities. Ofqual has now proposed that the tasks should be completed but will not count towards students’ grades. It means pupils across the UK, including in Northern Ireland, effectively face having their coursework marks cancelled.
